Picking winter fashion can be tricky, especially if you live in a region that involves crazy weather shifts. New York is a quintessential example: last week it snowed, this week it’s 50 degrees and raining. Go figure. There are a few things you need in your closet arsenal to succeed at winter fashion, and they’re not what you’d immediately think either. Who’s ready for the inside scoop on winter fashion?
WINTER MUST HAVES
1: Sweater Dresses
Seems odd, right? Dresses aren’t your average winter fashion staples, but they can be if you’re willing to get creative. The best thing about sweater dresses is the ability to layer underneath it. It’s also just a really cozy option you can wear with just about any bottom. This season alone, I’ve worn this particular sweater dress with a long velvet skirt, skinny jeans, and these wide-leg beauties by Mara Hoffman. I’ve also worn some of my Lululemon Swiftly long sleeves underneath during below 20-degree weather. Wide leg pants have been my current go-to under sweater dresses, as again, THEY’RE SO EASY to layer with leggings when it’s unbearably cold. Below are some of my current faves at a range of price points.
2: The Blunt Umbrella
Just like my Moya Jacket, The Arrivals does it again on their latest collab with their winter fashion accessories. I discovered Blunt Umbrellas last year in San Francisco, and HOLY SH*T guys: I will never use another umbrella again. It doesn’t turn inside out, it weathers literally everything from snow, horrific rainstorms, and beyond. Plus, it just looks classy as hell. Count how many umbrellas you’ve tossed due to shitty design, and chances are, they add up to the same amount as one of these umbrellas. Not into the high price tag? Find it cheaper and direct from Amazon, in a ton of colors here.

cute & little
Ok, I’ve never seen an umbrella like that before and I MUST have it! I live in AZ though, so may be mostly in the closet, haha.
I live in the PNW so I’m all about that sweater and umbrella life. These photos capture the spirit of NYC so well!
I am a big fan of sweater dresses too! They’re just so perfect for the season.

Everyone can pull off a sweater dress, except for me. But that’s okay because you look stunning!
Absolutely love this look btw! Your style is so beautifully edgy, unique, and comfy! Love ❤️
