About Haute UNOFCL: it’s exactly that, not your official advice. Do you ever feel like your sense of personal style is, well…a little different? I can totally relate. Ever since I was old enough to dress, I’ve gravitated toward unusual or fashion-forward things and looked to the future. Whether it was a pair of guy’s sneakers, a studded belt, or experimenting with colorful makeup, something was always off the beaten path. If that’s you, the following thoughts are no stranger to you. It’s something that can often times intimidate others, or get you stuck into the public box of “weird” or “alternative.” It sometimes made life in the real world a bit tricky. That’s where this blog comes in. You are not alone, and in the great words of Kurt Cobain: come as you are.
Haute Unofficial: Now & Then
I created HAUTE UNOFFICIAL for you as an editorial diary of alternative fashion and beauty: through the written word and video content. What once started as a former varsity athlete’s way to share creative hacks on making your running wardrobe mainstream back in 2012, has expanded to include my love of streetwear, alternative fashion, and up and coming beauty trends. Where are my readers that remember when this blog went by the name of Running Pretty back in 2012? Throw a shoutout in the comments!
How It Shakes Out
So here’s the scoop on the why and the what around these parts. I strictly blog about clothing, beauty products, and lifestyle loves that are fashionable but ultimately… FUNCTIONAL and SUSTAINABLE for your closet. All outfits and products are my own unless noted otherwise. When I do choose to feature a gifted product/outfit I absolutely adore, it will be marked “c/o” in the product lineup or contain a sponsored mention at the bottom of the post. All opinions have and always will be unapologetically my own, including all sponsored content. I am very picky about companies and brands I partner with and only share with you ones that align with my values and high standards of product performance.
Occasionally, my posts will contain affiliate links, which means I may make a commission from a click or purchase. If any of my posts and recommendations speak to you and you click through to purchase, thank you! It helps me to continue serving up more of what you come here hoping to learn.
