The Ludlow Hotel: A Place You Need To Know About (and a $500 giveaway!)

The Ludlow Hotel

Oh, the Lower East Side. It’s been a fave of mine for years: the quintessential thin New York blocks full of walk-ups with beautiful fire escapes, street art, music, and a killer nightlife on Ludlow Street. I’m not repping it because it happens to also be my neighborhood, but hey, attention must be paid.

During NYFW this season, I stayed at the Ludlow Hotel. It had been a long time coming, a goal of staying in this neighborhood during my travels. For the past few seasons at NYFW, I had safely opted to stay in neighborhoods near shows. This year, knowing that I would soon be a resident, I opted for something more my style: edgy retro chic, with a side of grunge.

The Bathroom

I’m not gonna lie, after stalking hotels in the LES, I pulled the trigger on The Ludlow because of the killer bathroom aesthetic. Not sorry. When you’re blogging, it’s important to capture a certain feel with your locations, and this bathroom will be a source of my beauty content for the next month. I’m a firm believer that the best beauty shelfies come from The Ludlow Hotel bathrooms. Expect a staycation post here soon complete with a luxurious bubble bath. Additionally, if you’re not one to travel with a beauty arsenal, you’re in good hands. All their products are rose scented, and I feel like I live in the Glossier showroom while bathing here.

The Bed

HOLY OMG. If it wasn’t illegal, and I had room in my carry on, I probably would have snatched the pillows. After a long day of shows and meetings, all I wanted to do was curl up in these pillows and watch the winter Olympics. Complete with a sheet mask and subsequent mini facial of course. The sheets and mattress are among the comfiest I’ve ever experienced, and the monogramming was a sweet bonus.

Work Situation

I feel most inspired to write and focus when I’m surrounded by beautiful aesthetics, so the fact that the room came with not only the cutest mini chair and table with a view to kill didn’t hurt. I booked a terrace room for an added splurge to take in the views of the LES, and escape the craziness of the New York streets at the end of the day. You must book one of these rooms if you visit for the summer: hello rooftop happy hour?!

Amenities

If these few reasons aren’t enough already, cue the killer french restaurant, AND rooftop terrace. The food and wine selection were fabulous, and the view of the city was breathtaking at the top. I also knew I would have a tight timeline on my last day: I had multiple brand meetings PLUS my interview for my current full-time job and had to count on quick transportation to the airport immediately after. The hotel held my bags, and also had a killer house car waiting for me when I finished my interview. It was a flat rate ride, making the commute less stressful.

This lovely escape from the city will now be my family’s home base when they visit, and mine when I need a special staycation getaway from my own apartment. I can’t wait to head back to film some fun beauty content, and spend time with friends when they visit! If you’re planning your next New York trip, check out The Ludlow for your accommodationss. I promise you won’t be let down!
