Sunday Self-Care: 3 Beauty Hacks That Will Set Your Monday Up For Success

It’s often said that a Sunday well spent brings a week of content. If you’re a busy professional, that’s not always the case. While you can’t predict if your meetings or job will go as planned, you can assure that your body (and skin) are ready to take on the unknown. My simple Sunday self-care rituals are easy to adopt and will not only have you putting your best face forward but also feel mentally ready for anything your Monday throws at you.

Sunday Masking Strategy

I always pick three to four masks for my Sunday evening. Our skin does all of its regenerative work at night, so it’s important to make sure you’re solving your skin’s issues from the days before. Did you spend last night out and have a few too many of your go-to cocktail? Focus on hydration and brightening masks. Still exhausted from last Monday? Opt for a mask that helps fight fatigue with ingredients like red clay or green tea. Seeing stress lines? Use both hydrating masks and ones with anti-aging properties like retinol, caffeine, or exfoliators.

Sunday Self-Care: Pour One Drink.

Yeah, alcohol ages you and dries your skin. However, most of the damage comes from all the sugar we pile into it or starches in beer. A neat drink or one mixed with sparkling water is a great way to wind down, and allow you to relax while catching up on reading or your favorite show. I always opt for a neat Macallan, it helps spark my blogging creativity. Anyone else?

Get Into A Nightly Wind Down Routine.

All media: our phones, TV, all of it should be turned off an hour before you plan to call it a night. You’ll sleep better (uninterrupted), and will wake up in a way better mood, making Monday feel a little less ominous. My favorite apps for bedtime include Sleep Cycle and MoveWith. I’ve been trying my hand at a 5-minute meditation session via MoveWith before bed, and feel like my anxiety is getting more in check. Sleep Cycle allows me to track my sleep patterns, and adjust stuff that’s not working, like working too late, or TV binges.
