This past week was filled with long work hours followed by evenings with my Girls on the Run team and workouts sprinkled in where I could fit them. Luckily, the two workouts I managed to get in this week (I know, judge away) were AMAZING, courtesy of the wonderful city I live in. For the first time in a long time, I was unexpectedly surprised by how awesome my Saturday morning group instruction class was at Crunch Polk Street. I have to give them a shout out, because usually classes are mediocre at best, and most of the time I find myself contemplating why I even bother taking a class, considering I can write something for myself that doesn’t leave me feeling like my gym time was a total rip off.
So this class… It was sneakily labeled as a cardio class, but when I got there, I found myself immersed in a flashback to D1 sports conditioning, complete with yelling. Can I say awesome?! My high school and college athletic years were some of the best years of my life in terms of physical ability and I often yearn for someone to kick my ass in gear like that again. Looks like I got my wish! I had nearly forgotten the fond memories of wanting to puke, sprinter wedgies, random bruises, and suicides. Saturday. 11:00. Polk Street. Do it.
Second on the agenda this weekend was spending a surprisingly warm Sunday out on the Marina Green in the name of slapping cancer for a friend’s fundraiser for our neighborhood’s favorite season, the Mr. Marina Competition. Sponsored by our new Equinox location on Union, not only was it fun, it was also a killer workout! Nothing makes you forget how hard you are working when you have the Golden Gate to stare at, and all your friends around sweating it out with you. Oh, and what workout or event is complete without an after-party? We take Sunday Funday very seriously here.

In other news: My new Sephora order came in with my limited edition Radiant Orchid Pantone lipstick (available to Rouge-ers in pre-sale last week) and OMGLOVE. Check it out. Buy it. Because Color of the Year. I wore it out Saturday and got nothing but compliments! If you’re not Rouge, stay tuned and be on the lookout as this will be released shortly, and is definitely going to sell out quickly!
